WASHINGTON – The American University women's basketball team will face off with the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson at home in Bender Arena on Friday, Nov. 8 in a midday matchup. The Eagles and the Knights faced off for the first time in 24 years last season, with AU claiming the victory. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.

- This is the fourth matchup between the two programs, and only the second of this century.
- The Eagles and the Knights squared off in Hackensack, N.J. last season in early December and played to a six point AU victory.
- Last season, the team was led by Ivy Bales with 12 points. She also had two rebounds, an assist, and a block. Teammate Bailey Garbee had eight points and three rebounds. Both Bales and Garbee each had a steal.
- Fairleigh Dickinson was led by Abby Conklin who topped out at 18 and 15 points, respectively. Conklin sunk five three point jumpers on the night. On the glass, it was a combination of Conklin and Teneisia Brown who grabbed five rebounds each to command the defensive efforts.

- The Eagles dropped their first game of the season in a 104-68 loss to the ACC's Virginia on the road, and despite the scoreline, there was a lot of positives to take from the result in Charlottesville.
- Junior guard Anna Rescifina had a career night for herself. She, along with freshmen teammates Cecilia Kay and Ellie Pingree each scored a career-high 14 points. Rescifina also had a record high five rebounds, tied her personal high of three assists, and made a career high five field goals. She also played the most minutes she ever has on the court in a single game (35).
- On a team that only retained one significant starter from last season, the underclassmen, the freshmen in particular, showed out. Forwards Kay and Pingree's 14 point performances showed grit and determination against a veteran UVA team. Kay also led the Eagles on the glass with 9 rebounds, just one board away from a double-double in the first game of her collegiate career.
- Junior point-guard Laura Nogues was limited on the court, only playing 18 minutes, due to foul trouble but still managed to drop 11 points from four field goals and register a team-high five assists.
- Freshman point guard Molly Driscoll stepped up for the team with 24 minutes played on the court and dropped seven points. Another first year, Elizabeth Archer, showed up on defense with a team-leading two steals and grabbed four rebounds.
What to Know About Fairleigh Dickinson
- The Knights have started off their second year under head coach Stephanie Gaitley with a statement, 79-57, win over Dominican at home in Hackensack. With the win, Coach Gaitley picked up her 699th victory as a collegiate head coach. Her next victory will make her just the 29th coach in the women's game to reach the 700 win plateau.
- The Knights were led by graduate student Teneisia Brown, who dropped 22 points and nine rebounds on an efficient 10-for-12, or 83.3 percent, shooting night from the field.
- In the contest, the Knights took control right from the start, leading the Chargers 23-15 after the first quarter.
- The Knights were led by freshman Ava Renninger in the first. In just 18 minutes, Renninger would wind up with 20 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field while seeing her first regular season on-court action. The freshman also picked up five rebounds, two assists, and a steal, to go along with a perfect 3-for-3 shooting night from deep.
- In the second half, the Knights locked in from beyond the arc, shooting an efficient 40 percent from distance to help secure their win.
