WASHINGTON – American University head women's basketball coach,
Tiffany Coll, is excited to announce
Niya Beverley as the program's new Director of Basketball Operations. Beverley joins the Eagles from the University of Connecticut where she most recently served as a graduate assistant for the women's basketball team.
"I am ecstatic to have Niya join us here at American," said Coll. "Her high-level experience as a player and work with a historic program in UConn, will be invaluable to the growth of our team. Her passion, experience, and desire for excellence will have an immediate impact on our players and our program."
During her graduate assistantship with the 11-time National Championship program, Beverley garnered the elite experience of working with and learning from legendary Hall of Fame Coach, Geno Auriemma. At UConn, Beverley was responsible for assisting with all aspects of the program including on-court workouts, scouting reports, overseeing student managers, and aiding in all recruiting efforts. In her two years with the Huskies, Beverley was a part of a Final Four run in 2023-2024 and a Sweet Sixteen run in 2022-2023.

Prior to her time in Storrs, Beverley had an outstanding playing career at both Penn State University and University of Wisconsin. During her playing career, Beverley led the Big Ten and was second in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio while also earning Academic All-Big Ten honors.
A native of Laurel, Maryland, Beverley attended the prestigious St. John's College High School in Washington, DC where she was the No. 22 ranked point guard in the nation her senior year.
Beverley earned a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services from Penn State University in 2021 and a Master of Science from the University in Connecticut in Sport Management in 2024.
