WASHINGTON – The American University women's lacrosse (6-5, 2-2 PL) will be hosting their Senior Day Ceremony on Saturday, April 8 prior to their noon game against Lehigh (7-5, 2-3 PL). Prior to the start of the game, the Eagles squad will recognize six seniors for their service and dedication to the program over the last four years.

SERIES HISTORY
- In a series that dated back to 1994, the Eagles and the Mountain Hawks have faced off a total of 24 times. Lehigh holds the edge, leading 13-11 and the last time the Eagles came out with a victory was back in 2013.
- At home at Jacobs Complex, American holds the power, up 7-5 in the series. The last time the two programs faced off in D.C. was back in March of 2021 and, the game separated by two goals with the Eagles falling 10-12.
- Most recently, in 2022 away in Bethlehem, the Mountain Hawks were the victors over the Eagles, but again, by a narrow, two goal margin with a final score of 9-11.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
- This past Saturday, the Eagles and Black Knights of Army traded goals through the first half with neither side relenting. Despite the back-and-forth battle for supremacy, American was unable to hold off Army's second half push and they fell 10-18.
- Spratt led the Eagles offensively as she tied her season high for goals in a game with four, scoring three in the first half. The sophomore added four draw controls and a ground ball and caused turnover to her stat line.
- Apuzzo also tied her season high for goals in a game as she found the back of the net for three goals in the first two quarters. The sophomore also assisted on another goal in the second half.
- Annabelle Jackson, Kellie Linehan and Reagan Murdoch each added a goal in the Eagles' efforts. Jackson and Linehan also each secured a ground ball.
- Junior Hannah Spease helped the Eagles stay in the contest as she assisted on a goal while also securing a pair of draw controls along with grabbing a ground ball and causing a turnover.
- Defenders Grace Brennan, Jenna Walls and Jordan Mitchell remained active as Brennan secured two ground balls and caused a turnover. Walls and Mitchell each grabbed a ground ball and Mitchell added a draw control on the day.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT LEHIGH
- The Mountain Hawks are coming off a loss against Penn, 9-17. Penn took the lead in the first and despite a late push, Lehigh was unable to mount a full come back.
- Goal leaders were senior Gabby Schneider, and junior Olivia Memeger, with five and two goals respectively. Schneider and Memeger lead the team in goals, with 29 apiece on the season. Schneider and Memeger are also first and second on the team in assists, with 20 and 18, ranking seventh and ninth in the Patriot League.
- Four additional players got on the board for the Mountain Hawks during the Penn game on Tuesday evening, Gabby Schneider (5), Olivia Memeger (2), Katia Carnevale (1), and Emma Fiore (1).
- As a team, Lehigh is ranked second in the Patriot League for woman-down goals (3), and second in the league for woman-up scoring percentage.
- Defensively, Lauren Warfield caused two turnovers, leading the effort in the back against Penn.
- Junior Goalkeeper Hayley Hunt had 16 saves, and currently sits at second in the Patriot League in saves per game with 12.
