INSIDE THE SERIES
  • The Eagles lead in the series against the Terriers 16-9. Last season, the two teams went head-to-head three times, twice in the regular season and once in the post season. American leads the series at home 12-1 over Boston U.
  • This season, the teams have already faced off once, Boston U. defeating American, 63-73, at home exactly one month prior on Jan. 8th in Case Gym in Boston.
  • In the game in January, Emily Johns went 6-15 from the field and 3-3 from the line to lead the charge for the Eagles. She scored a bulk of her points in the paint, fighting her way to the rim over and over throughout the game.
  • Guard Sadie Stetson went 3-5 from beyond the arc, grabbing a career high 11 points, and Ivy Bales also had an 11-point outing, going 5-11 from the field and 1-2 from distance. The guard also took five steals.
  • Bales and Lauren Stack led on the glass for the Eagles, grabbing six apiece, despite also each earning their fourth foul in the final quarter.
  • In the last matchup, the Terriers were led by Lauren Davenport and Maggie Pina with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Davenport also grabbed six rebounds. Caitlin Weimer led for BU on the glass with 10 rebounds.
  • American was up by six at the half, but fell behind 55-48 after the Terriers outscored them, 25-12 in the third before Boston U. opened-up their lead in the final period, taking it to 14 points over the Eagles, Davenport scoring seven of her 15 points in the fourth frame alone.
  • American pushed back late to reduce the deficit to 10, but ultimately fell 63-73 to the hosting Boston U.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
  • The Eagles were away in their most recent matchup, heading up north to Colgate where they fell 52-48 to the Raiders. • Emily Johns finished the contest with a team-leading 15-point performance, going 7-12 from the field. The junior forward also had three rebounds. Despite Johns scoring 11 of her 15 points in the second half, the Raiders outscored the American Eagles 19-10 in the final period to claim the home victory and even the series 1-1.

  • On the boards, American was led by Ivy Bales with 10. The junior also had three assists and a steal but was charged with her fourth foul with six minutes left to play in the game.
