COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the 56th semester in a row, both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams at American University were named Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The women's team GPA of 3.72 ranks in a tie for 10th among all NCAA Division I women's programs.
American was one of 188 institutions to receive the award on the women's side, and one of 121 on the men's side. Teams were selected on the basis of their grade point averages, and represent a total of 19,426 student-athletes across all divisions.
The women's team led all Patriot League schools with its impressive team GPA, and both programs led all teams at AU by gender for the fall semester.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
