INSIDE THE SERIES
  • The Eagles lead the Bison in the series 27-24 and American has the 15-9 home court advantage in Bender Arena. • In that game then-sophomore Ivy Bales led the team with seven rebounds while also tacking on 11 points. The guard played all but three minutes of the Championship game. She also had two assists, two blocks, and a steal.
  • Outside of the championship game, the Eagles split the regular season. In their first meeting last season, the Bison charged ahead to a 10-point, 62-52 victory over the Eagles in Lewisburg. In that game, Lauren Stack had seven rebounds and five steals. Cecelia Collins was the leading scorer for Bucknell with 14 points. She also had nine assists, seven rebounds, and three steals.
  • When the two programs faced off in Bender for their second meeting, it was American who took an eight-point victory over Bucknell. Ivy Bales and Stack both had nine points each. For the Bison, Collins also came out of that game with nine points and six rebounds.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
  • The Eagles are coming off a 67-56 (OT) Saturday victory against the Holy Cross Crusaders in Worcester, Mass. It was composure under pressure from the Eagles to finish out the game with a rowdy home crowd rooting for Holy Cross.
  • The overtime win was a result of a quick three-point lead with a basket and a foul drawn from freshman Molly Lavin. The Eagles kept their lead with a strong defensive performance and the Crusaders were left two down, with a final shot in the last second not landing thanks to the Eagles defense holding strong and forcing a last-ditch effort.
  • American was led by a standout performance from senior forward Lauren Stack. Stack had an impressive 17 points and 6 rebounds during the game. Stack went 8-13 from the floor, playing 35 minutes, scarcely coming off the floor in the second half when fellow forward Emily Johns got into foul trouble.

  • Johns, the junior forward, is leading the team in points, scoring 288 points this season, and is averaging 13.0 points per game. She is also 11th in the league in scoring average, and fourth in field goal percentage (.465).
