Women’s Basketball Starts Three Home Game Stint Against Monmouth

WASHINGTON –  After breaking a five-game losing streak with a road win against Farleigh Dickinson on Saturday, the American University women's basketball team returns home in search of its third win of the season in a midweek matchup against Monmouth.

  • This will be the sixth contest between the two programs, with American leading the Hawks 4-1 in a series that dates back to 1994.

  • It was 12 triples powered the Hawks past Rider, shooting 41.4% from the arc. Monmouth has never attempted less than 15 shots from three this season. 
  • Senior Kaci Donovan dropped a season-high 23 points against the Broncs, shooting 7-14 from three. 
  • Senior transfer Taisha Exanor continues to produce for Hawks. After three years at the University of Pittsburgh, Exanor joined the Monmouth program this season. Since moving to West Long Branch, she provides consistent minutes for the Hawks, coming off a season high of 15 points against Rider. 
  • Monmouth's game against the Eagles starts the first of three Patriot League matchups for the team, traveling to Easton to take on Lafayette followed by a return home to take on Loyola Maryland just before the holiday break.
