WASHINGTON – The American University women's basketball team (3-12, 2-2) is looking to put a halt to their two-game losing streak when it welcomes Army West Point (3-11, 1-3) to Bender Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. The Black Knights are coming into the matchup fresh off a 52-65 away loss against Colgate on Sunday. They are currently 1-3 in conference play with their only win coming over Lafayette (75-56) and with losses to Lehigh and Loyola Maryland as well as Colgate.

- In week two of the Patriot League season, the Eagles went 0-2 and will be returning to Bender on Wednesday coming off a 63-73 away defeat to Boston U, despite leading the game at the half, on Jan. 8. American is currently 2-2 in league play.
- Against the Terriers, American was led by junior forward, Emily Johns. Johns went 6-15 from the field and 3-3 from the line to lead the charge for the Eagles, scoring 15 points. She scored the bulk of her points in the paint, fighting her way to the rim over and over throughout the game. She also accumulates two rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Johns currently leads AU in points per game (13.7) and field goal percentage (.458).
- Senior guard Sadie Stetson went 3-5 from beyond the arc, grabbing a career high 11 points. Freshman Molly Lavin hit 2-3 on the afternoon, including going 2-2 from distance. Lavin also went 4-4 from the line to accumulate 10 points total.
- Ivy Bales also had an 11-point outing, going 5-11 from the field and 1-2 from distance. The guard also took five steals.
- Bales, who leads American this season in rebounds per game (5.7) and Lauren Stack led on the glass for the Eagles, grabbing six apiece, despite also each earning their fourth foul in the final quarter.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT ARMY WEST POINT
- The Black Knights are on a two-loss streak heading into Bende and are currently 1-3 in the Patriot League. Most recently, Army is coming off a 52-65 away defeat to Colgate who are now 3-1 in the league.
- In the game against Colgate, head coach Missy Traversi shook up the Black Knights' starting line-up and gave Trinity Hardy her first start of the season. The sophomore guard scored a season high 10 points. She also logged two assists, two rebounds, and three steals.
- Senior forward Sabria Hunter leads Army West Point with an average of 13.1 ppg so far this season. Hunter also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 11.6 per game. She dropped 10 points and led the charge with 12 rebounds in the loss against Colgate to record her eighth double-double of the season.
- Other key players in the game against Colgate were Kamryn Hall who led for the Black Knights with 11 points and tallied five rebounds, and junior Sam McNaughton who post eight points and two rebounds. Despite not recording on in the game against Colgate, Hall has a team-leading 12 blocks this season.
- Army is currently first in the league in offensive rebounding (12.8 per game) and fifth in overall rebounding (36.4 per game). They are also fourth in the league in offense, recording an average of 58.9 points per game.
