WASHINGTON - The American University track team concluded its 2022 outdoor season on Sunday with one final record book performance, as the men's 4x800-meter relay team closed the two-day IC4A/ECAC Championships with the third-fastest time in program history.

"The guys wrapped up the season in phenomenal fashion at the IC4A/ECAC Championships. On day one we had some tactical races in the 1500- and 5000-meter runs, and still came away with personal records (PR's) for a lot of the guys. The 4x800m was great today - every leg was executed well to challenge the school record. Finishing the season with big PR's, particularly Ethan Puc with a six-second improvement during his leg of the 4x800m (1:52), the third-fastest 4x800m time ever, and a fourth-place overall finish at the championships was very exciting!" 

#AUTF NOTES

• The squad of senior Aidan Caggiano, juniors Nathan Reeves and Tucker Zullo, and sophomore Ethan Puc closed with a final time of 7:28.88 to take fourth overall at the championship meet, missing out on first place by about two seconds. The foursome also added their names to the program record books, coming in third overall in AU history with just over one second separating them from the school record from 2007 (7:27.66).
• For Caggiano, Reeves, and Zullo, this was the second race of the weekend after they also qualified for Saturday's 1500m run. Zullo was the first across the line for the Eagles with a new PR of 3:50.86, good for 11th in the field. Freshman Oscar Counsell also hit a new personal best in the event, taking 30th in 3:54.66.
• Junior Russell Sullivan closed out AU's qualifiers for the weekend with an 11th-place finish in the 5000m run, timing through with a new PR of 14:25.09 - just about 10 seconds outside of the program's top-10 list.
