WASHINGTON - Another outstanding performance in the cage for American University lacrosse has earned sophomore Mary Alice Collins the title of GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week. Collins also earned her second consecutive PL Goalkeeper of the Week honor as she helped lead the Eagles to five straight wins.

Collins totaled 14 saves during Saturday's 19-7 win over Holy Cross, marking her third consecutive performance with more than 10 saves after she hit back-to-back career-highs with 16 saves during the wins over Old Dominion and Lafayette. The transfer from Villanova has averaged 15.3 saves and 9.7 goals against in the last three outings. In fact, she has been the starting goalkeeper throughout the current 5-0 run for the Eagles and has averaged 11.6 saves per game during the win streak while allowing only 9.0 goals per game.

Senior Kendall Goldblum and freshman Maddy Spratt also made the weekly release as honorable mentions. Goldblum helped lead the team on Saturday with five points (3g, 2a) and a season-high seven draw controls. Spratt scored a career-high four goals to tie her career-best with six points against the Crusaders. 

American will be on the road the next two weekends with games at Army West Point (April 2) and Lehigh (April 9). The Eagles will be back at Jacobs on April 13 against Loyola Maryland.
