SERIES HISTORY
  • Although the Mountain Hawks have claimed the last six games of the 21-game series, the Eagles still hold the advantage, 11-10.
  • American is 7-4 against Lehigh at Jacobs Complex while the Mountain Hawks hold a 6-3 edge in Bethlehem.
  • The Eagles' last win over Lehigh was in Bethlehem on April 7, 2013 (16-8). The last time AU came away with a home victory was March 31, 2012 (18-15).
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • AU is still on the hunt for its first win of 2021 after falling to a second half surge to crosstown rival George Washington on Wednesday, 17-16.
  • Seniors Casey Harkins and Emma Vinall paced the Eagles with five goals each. This was the second hat trick for the pair after Vinall opened with a six-goal effort against Mount St. Mary's and Harkins led with three against #14 Loyola Maryland.
  • Senior goalkeeper Delaney Oliveira picked up a career-high 13 saves on the day alongside a team-high five ground balls.
  • Vinall leads the Eagles' offensive output so far this season with 12 points (11g, 1a), followed by 11 from Harkins (9g, 2a).
  • Senior Erica Skowron has pitched in a team-high three assists to go along with her three goals.
  • Oliveira, who earned her first three career starts last year behind then-senior Emma Curtis, will be looked to take over that starting spot this season.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
  • Lehigh picked up its first win of the 2021 season on Saturday with a 9-6 finall against La Salle. The Mountain Hawks opened with back-to-back losses to Drexel, 19-17, and Saint Joseph's, 15-8.
  • Gabby Schneider led with six goals and an assist against the Explorers. Four other Mountain Hawks contributed a goal each to the final scoresheet while Emma Eberhardt added the day's only other assists with three.
  • Samantha Sagi played all 60 minutes in goal for Lehigh and picked up nine saves.
  • On the defensive end, Hannah Cermack picked up five ground balls and added a team-high four draw controls.
  • Sondra Dickey leads the team with 11 goals this season, despite behind held scoreless on Saturday.
  • Dickey was the only Preseason All-League selection for the Mountain Hawks, who were predicted to finish fifth in the conference this season.
RECORD BOOK WATCH
  • The Eagles will look to continue rewriting the record books this season after three of the program's bests in 2020. Emma Vinall and Casey Harkins each came away with single-game program records during the win over Presbyterian to end last year's campaign. Vinall topped Eleni Vagelatos' eight-goal record from 1996, scoring nine to lead the Eagles, while Harkins beat out teammate Erica Skowron's records for points (12) and assists (11).
  • Those 11 assists also tied the Division I single-game record, and put Harkins over the top for the single-season assists record (34) and career record (62).
  • Vinall also holds a single-season program record with her 65 points in 2019, and a freshman season record for draw contorls with 40 from 2018.
  • The All-American attacker will now look to continue moving up the career record lists for goals and points. She currently ranks fifth in program history with 159 points and second with 139 goals.

BACK FOR SECONDS

  • Casey Harkins and Erica Skowron opted to return for a fifth year after their senior season was cut short with the COVID pandemic.
  • Harkins had a stellar senior season in 2020, culminating in program records and a tied Division I record for single-game assists with 11 during the season finale victory over Presbyterian.
  • Those 11 assists also broke the program record and put her over the top for AU's single-season (34) and career (61) records after only seven nonconference games.
  • Harkins also closed the 2020 slate with a program record in single-game points after adding a goal against the Blue Hose for a dozen on the day.
  • Skowron has started each of her 43 games throughout her career, including two in 2019 before she was sidelined by injury.
  • She entered last season as the program record holder for single-game assists (6) and points (11) before Harkins eclipsed those records in the season finale.
