WASHINGTON - For her performances in a 1-1 week for American University women's basketball, Kaitlyn Marenyi has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time this season.

Marenyi helped lead the Eagles with 11 points in a 63-44 win over Loyola Maryland and put up another 13 during a near OT comeback against Colgate. She averaged a team-high 12.0 ppg between the two games. In her 30 minutes of play against the Greyhounds, Marenyi failed to give up a single turnover for a second time this season. She has now reached double figures in scoring in six straight games, and ranks fourth in PL play with 14.6 ppg.

UP NEXT
American will be back on the road on Wednesday with a trip to Lehigh before returning home to face Lafayette at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1.
