WASHINGTON – After tallying a career-high seven points in American's 12-9 victory over Army West Point on Saturday, sophomore lacrosse player Jennifer DeSimone was selected as the GEICO AU Student-Athlete of the Week.

A native of Middletown, Md., DeSimone scored four goals and three assists to lead the Eagles past the Black Knights in Patriot League action. DeSimone's four goals matched a career high, while her three assists were a new personal best.

In the Eagles' two Patriot League victories this season, DeSimone has totaled 13 points (8g, 5a). She currently leads American with 43 total points, including a team-best 35 goals.

The Eagles close their home schedule on Wednesday, April 20, when they host Navy in a 4 p.m. contest.
