Two Runners Take Home Titles at Morgan State Meet

Results

Brendan Johnson and Krystal Foster won the men's and women's 5,000 meter races, respectively, to lead the American University outdoor track teams at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore, Md. on Saturday.

Johnson paced the field in 15:38.24 while three other Eagles finished in the top-10. Tom Woermer and Nick Regan finished second and third with times of 15:39.36 and 15:40.42, respectively. Ian Lutz ran a 15:50.42 to place seventh in the 5,000. In the men's 1,500 meter race, Joshua Ellis finished second with a mark of 3:55.93 and Peter Rowe placed fourth with a 3:58.69 finishing time.

Foster was the highest finisher on the women's side, winning in 18:05.11. Julia Sullivan ran the 1,500 in 4:44.16 to place fifth while Kelseagh Budris finished 10th in the women's 800 in 2:16.77.

Maryland Eastern Shore won the men's title with 91.33 points and Morgan State took home the women's title with 95 points. American's men's team placed ninth overall and the women's team finished 17th.

American will head to Philadelphia, Pa. next week to compete in the 120th Penn Relays Thursday through Saturday, April 24-26.
