The American University lacrosse team couldn't hold off a second half rally by Lehigh on Sunday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa., dropping a 10-6 contest to the Mountain Hawks.

Lehigh (7-7, 4-3) scored the first two goals of the game on unassisted tallies by Allison LaBeau and Krista Dampman two and a half minutes apart. Jessica Wojciechowski put the Eagles on the board with 21:22 left in the half as Jordan Harrington added the assist. 

Olivia Mangan added another goal for American (4-12, 0-7) and Wojciechowski notched her second of the day to give the Eagles a 3-2 edge. Julianne D'Orazio tied it up with 5:27 remaining but Alex Lugovina and Emily Maher closed out the half with consecutive goals in the final minute to send American into the break up 5-3.

Back-to-back goals by Dampman to open the second half sparked a 7-0 run for the Mountain Hawks and put Lehigh on top 10-5 with 2:42 left in the game. Terese Buechli scored the final goal of the game with a second remaining off the dish from Harrington for the 10-6 final score. 

Harrington had three points off three assists to lead the Eagles and Lugovina and Wojciechowski had two points apiece. Madison Hoon finished with a team-best three ground balls collected and three draw controls for American. Jackie Ferri made four saves in the loss.

Dampman finished with a game-high five goals and LaBeau added four points on three goals and one helper. Kendall Garden led the Mountain Hawks with five draw controls and three ground balls collected. Alex Fitzpatrick made four stops as the starting goalkeeper. 

Lehigh held a 16-14 edge in shots and 15-9 advantage in ground balls collected. The Eagles finished with a 9-8 edge in draw controls.

American closes out its season on Saturday, Apr. 20 at 1 p.m. when it hosts Colgate for Senior Day. The game will be broadcast live on the Patriot League Network.
