Pope and Julia
Sullivan registered IC4A and ECAC qualifying times to
lead the American University indoor track teams at the New Balance
Collegiate Invitational on Saturday in New York, N.Y.
Pope and Johnson competed in the 5,000 meter run. Pope ran
in the 5,000 meter championship race and finished 11th with a time
of 14:30.58, the ninth fastest time in program history. Johnson
placed sixth in the 5,000 meter college run with a mark of
14:37.72. Nick
Regan also competed in the 5,000 meter championship
event and finished 13th in 14:55.25.
A pair of Eagles competed in the men's mile college.
Peter
Rowe finished 19th with a time of 4:21.63 and
Matiss
Batarags ran a personal-best 4:22.61 to finish
21st.
Sullivan registered an ECAC and personal-best mark en
route to a sixth place finish in the women's 3000 meter run
college. Her time of 9:43.68 was the third fastest in program
history. In the 3,000 meter run eastern, Corina
Velazco finished 22nd in 10:21.18.
Krystal
Foster placed 13th in the 5,000 meter run championship
with an 18:04.50, good for the sixth fastest time in program
history. In the 800 meter run college, Kelseagh
Budris and Anike
Oladeji finished 60th and 71st with times of 2:21.34
and 2:25.75, respectively. Both times were good for the sixth and
ninth fastest marks at American.
The Eagles will return to the track for the Patriot League
Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 in
Lewisburg, Pa.
