Men's Track Posts Seven Top-10 Results in First Indoor Meet

The American University men's track team completed its first indoor meet of the season at the Navy Invitational on Friday.

Nick Regan ran a career-best 8.27.40 to finish fourth in the 3000 meter race. Sophomores Joshua Ellis and Bernard Skomal also bested their career marks, finishing ninth and 10th with times of 8:36.44 and 9:07.61, respectively.

In the 1500 meter run, David McCombs led the Eagles with a fifth place result, running a career-best 4:03.41 while Matiss Batarags and Ian Lutz finished with times of 4:07.05 and 4:11.56 to place seventh and 10th, respectively.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Lutz, Peter Rowe, John Pope and Liam May placed second with a final mark of 8:08.65.

The men's team will return to action on Saturday, January 11 as the Eagles will compete in the second Navy Invitational.
