The American University men's soccer team recorded its largest
offensive output since 1992 and four different players found the
back of the net in a 7-0 rout of Howard Thursday night.

Kuramoto put American (2-1-0) on the board first after
Jordan
Manley tapped it to the junior for the finish and the
1-0 lead in the 13th minute. The Eagles scored again in the 21st

Osborne pass to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
The Eagles returned to score from the break with two straight
goals. Kuramoto added his second of the day off a pass from
Alassane
Kane in the 52nd minute before Seigfreid found the
back of the net for his second of the day in the 53rd minute.
Kuramoto and Patrick
Mehlert were credited with the assists.
Kane tallied back-to-back goals just a minute apart to put
American up 6-0, beating the goalkeeper Michael Bellot both times
with a strike from outside the box. Mehlert added the final
punctuation mark of the day when he floated a 20-yard shot over
Bellot's head on a free kick.
Howard (0-3-0) had an opportunity when they were awarded a
penalty kick in the 83rd minute, but Brian Monge's shot was saved
by Dylan
Hobert to preserve the shutout for the Eagles.
American outshot Howard 18-3 in the game with a 12-3 margin in
shots on goal.
The Eagles resume play in the D.C. College Cup on Saturday,
September 1 at 3 p.m. against George Mason. The Patriots defeated
George Washington, 3-0, in the tournament opener earlier in the
day. Howard will face the Colonials at Reeves Field on Saturday at
12 p.m. American's game will be broadcast live on Eagles Vision
TV.
