WASHINGTON – Heading into the last non-conference match before Patriot League play begins, the American University men's soccer team is looking for its first win of the season as the Eagles matchup with Liberty at home on Sunday.

Parking on Campus

• Parking on campus is actively monitored seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Fans can buy a season-long parking pass for the Bender Arena Sports Center Garage (through Nov. 22) through the Athletics Ticketing website HERE.
• Parking is available on a per-event basis.
  • Event Parking: $10 per contest for games held after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends (available through the PayByPhone app in any garage using code (211950).
  • Hourly Parking: Standard hourly garage rates apply from 8 am-10 pm in the Katzen Arts Center and School of International Service garages.

Concessions Now Available

• Fans can now head over to the concessions stand inside the newly-completed Meltzer Center for food, snacks, and Pepsi beverages.
• Fans 21+ and over can purchase alcohol on the second floor at the Meltzer Terrace.

What to Know About American: 0-2-2 (0-0-0)

• The Eagles are coming off a 0-0 draw to Delaware, fending off 12 shots and 10 corner kick chances to earn the clean sheet. With the result, AU is still searching for its first goal of the season.  
• Despite a performance that required a lot of defending, the Eagles produced some positive moments on the attacking end. 
• In the opening minute of the second half, Oliver Snowdon caused a turnover in the attacking third and found Henrick Boahen at the top of the box. The freshman from Ghana squared a right-footed strike that forced a diving save on the left side of the frame from Eric Widrick. 
• Just minutes later, Patryk Rojek forced another diving save from Widrick after getting loose in transition, but he was whistled offside. 
• The Eagles did well to deny a late push from Delaware. The Blue Hens took five shots in the final 20 minutes, two of which were blocked and one that forced Tubbs' best save of the day. 
• In the 73rd minute, Liam Penny directed a feed from German Argueta toward goal. The ball took a deflection off of Snowdon, forcing Tubbs to stretch his hands out to make a diving save as the ball changed directions. The sophomore keeper now has 16 saves on the season. 
• Junior midfielder Chris Sullivan has been AU's most active attacking player, putting four shots on goal over 276 minutes of play. 

What to Know About Liberty: 1-2-1 (0-0-0)

• The Flames are coming off a 1-1 draw against Georgia Southern in their most recent match. Liberty took the lead on a Samson Kpardeh goal in the 70th minute, only to see Georgia Southern knot the contest 10 minutes later. 
• Liberty is led by the sophomore striker Kpardeh, who has five goals and ten points through four matches and recorded his first multi-goal game of 2026 against FGCU. 
• Kpardeh has found the back of the net in three of Liberty's four matches, and currently leads the Southern Conference in points. 
• Pablo Matavele follows behind Kpardeh with three points on one goal and one assist, while Ronniw Gorman and Javan Ochieng have contributed two assists. 
• Liberty has scored six goals through four matches while putting 19 shots on target. The Flames are receiving contributions from across the roster, with seven different players recording at least one point on record.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Dan Rose has played all 360 minutes in net for Liberty. The transfer from Marshall has allowed eight goals in four matches.
• The Flames brought in nine transfers ahead of the 2026 season, including Kpardeh, Oachieng, and Rose. Kpardeh and Ochieng previously played together at Gardner-Webb. 
• Liberty is in its first season as a member of the Southern Conference after spending its previous years as part of the Ohio Valley Conference. The Flames were picked to finish third in the SoCon preseason poll, behind Furman and UNCG.
