The American University lacrosse team returns to action Saturday, April 9 when it takes on Lafayette at 1:00 p.m. in Easton, Pa.

The Eagles (6-6, 2-2) are coming off a 12-11 triple overtime loss to George Mason on Tuesday and will seek to end their two-game losing streak Saturday against the Leopards. Bernadette Maher, Eliza Morgan and Chiara Speziale each scored two goals to lead American's attack versus the Patriots while Emily Stankiewicz collected a career-high eight ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls. The Eagles had rallied from a three-goal second-half deficit to push the game into overtime, but could not capitalize on their opportunities in the extra sessions.

American has benefited from a balanced attack this season as five Eagles have notched at least 20 points. Kimberly Collins leads the way with 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists while Samantha Marshall has contributed 26 points on 22 goals and four helpers. Maher has scored a team-high 23 goals to go along with two assists as Speziale and Lauren Schoenberger have recorded 24 points and 20 points, respectively.

The Eagles lead the Patriot League in caused turnovers at 9.25 per game thanks in large part to Stankiewicz's contributions on the defensive end of the field. The junior's 1.75 caused turnovers and 2.83 ground balls rank third in the conference while she has also collected 22 draw controls and 13 goals. Kaska Komosinski, meanwhile, owns a 6-6 record in goal and a 10.65 goals against average.

Lafayette will carry a 2-9 overall record and 1-3 mark in the Patriot League into Saturday's contest. The Leopards got their first conference win of the season last Saturday 13-11 over Bucknell after have dropped six straight heading into the weekend. Ana White leads the team with 31 points on 19 goals and 12 assists, while Addie Godfrey has added 23 goals and four assists for 27 points. Alexa Biale is 1-7 in goal with a 12.41 goals against average.
