WASHINGTON - The American University wrestling team was on the road again Friday night, taking on both George Mason and Drexel at the George Mason Fieldhouse. AU was unable to come away from the two duals with a win, losing to GMU 28-18 and to Drexel 25-12.

Three Eagles, Matt Mariacher, No. 20 Kyle Borshoff and No. 11 Mike Cannon, each won both of their matches Friday night. Mariacher first defeated William Martin of Drexel at 133 lbs., 7-1, and then beat Joe Coughlin of GMU, 8-4. Borshoff moved up one weight class to 149 lbs. Friday. In his first match he took a 12-5 decision over Kyle Bub of Drexel and then took down Aaron Keeton of Mason, 10-4. Cannon breezed through both of his matches at 165 lbs., first beating William Haydt of Drexel, 7-0, and then pinning Greg Scott of GMU just 1:04 into the first period.

Christopher Stout went 1-1 at 157 lbs. by pinning George Mason's Frankie McLaughlin at the 2:55 mark. Brooks Keefer earned his first victory of the year at 197 lbs. over Kyle Frey of Drexel, 8-7.

The Eagles will return to action tomorrow, Dec. 8, as they host Delaware State at 4 p.m. Prior to the meet AU will hold a special ceremony to honor Josh Glenn's 2007 197 lbs. National Championship. During the ceremony his championship banner will be proudly displayed for the first time inside of Bender Arena.
