BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Over 85 percent of American University student-athletes earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll distinction during the 2025-26 school year. The Eagles had 251 honorees across 13 sports, including 107 in the fall and 144 in the winter and spring.
The League had a record 4,152 student-athletes make the 2025-26 Academic Honor Roll, including 2,805 honorees on the Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll. The League improved by 129 members from the 2024-25 academic year.
American's indoor and outdoor track and field team, men's basketball team, and men's and women's swimming & diving teams all achieved or tied program record numbers of honorees.
Patriot League student-athletes are selected to the academic honor roll for achieving a 3.2 grade-point average (GPA) or better during the semester in which their League champion is crowned. The 2025-26 season marks the ninth consecutive academic year the League has topped 3,000 honor roll selections.
During the 2025-26 academic year, 2,254 women were recognized across 12 sports, while 1,898 men were honored across 10 sports. Patriot League women’s track and field teams placed a League-high 437 student-athletes on the honor roll, while men’s track and field (328), women’s rowing (321) and men’s lacrosse (305) ranked second, third and fourth, respectively, during the winter and spring seasons. Women’s lacrosse (279), women’s swimming and diving (247) and men’s swimming and diving (205) all placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll. Baseball (125), women’s basketball (110), softball (103), men’s basketball (100), women’s tennis (78), men’s tennis (77), men’s golf (49) and women’s golf (45) completed the contributions to the winter-spring honor roll.
