Anne-Meike de Wiljes, Field Hockey (2006-09)
Anne-Meike de Wiljes was a four-time Patriot League champion and one of the most accomplished defenders in American University field hockey history. A two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, she earned Second Team All-America honors as a senior in 2009 and was named to the All-Region First Team in each of her final two seasons.

De Wiljes was a two-time All-Patriot League First Team selection and earned second-team honors in 2007. As a senior, she anchored a defensive unit that finished with the 11th-lowest goals-against average in the nation. During her four seasons, the Eagles compiled a 59-29 record, lost just one Patriot League game, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament each year.

She finished her career with 15 goals, 28 assists, and 58 points, with her assist total currently tied for eighth in program history. In 2010, she was named AU Athletics' Female Senior Student-Athlete of the Year.

De Wiljes also excelled academically, earning NFHCA National Academic Squad and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition in all four years. After graduating, she returned to the program as a volunteer assistant coach in 2010.

Jen Dumiak, Women's Basketball (2011-15)
Jen Dumiak helped lead American University women's basketball to its first Patriot League championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015, capping one of the most decorated individual careers in program history.

As a senior, Dumiak was named Patriot League Player of the Year, earned All-Patriot League First Team honors, and was selected as the Patriot League Tournament MVP. She scored 24 points and dished out six assists in American's 66-50 championship victory over Lehigh before recording 23 points and nine assists in the Eagles' narrow, 75-67 NCAA Tournament loss to Iowa. American finished the season with a 24-9 record.

Dumiak ranks fifth in program history with 1,399 career points and second with 478 assists. She holds the school record for career free-throw percentage (.852), and set the program's single-season assists record with 206 in 2014-15. Her 563 points that season rank second in school history.

Equally accomplished in the classroom, Dumiak completed her undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics in just three years with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was named the 2015 Patriot League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team honors and was nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year.

Dustin Emrani, Cross Country/Track & Field (2004-07)
Dustin Emrani established himself as one of the most accomplished middle-distance runners in American University history, earning All-America honors in the outdoor 800 meters at the 2007 NCAA Championships, and capturing 12 Patriot League titles during his collegiate career.

Emrani won five individual Patriot League championships in the 800 meters, including two outdoor and three indoor titles, and was a member of seven championship 4x800-meter relay teams. He also helped the Eagles capture the 2006 Patriot League Cross Country Championship.

His performances left a lasting mark on the AU record books. Emrani held the outdoor 800-meter school record for nearly 19 years and was part of record-setting relay teams whose marks stood for as long as 21 years.

Following his collegiate career, Emrani continued competing at an elite level. He joined Nike Oregon Track Club Elite and competed in the 800 meters at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials. He also reached the semifinals of the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Emrani earned two gold medals and a silver at the 2009 Maccabiah Games and went on to represent Israel at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships. He has also remained active in community service and charitable organizations.

Monika (Smídová) Záveská, Volleyball (2011-15)
Monika (Smídová) Záveská was one of the most decorated setters in American University volleyball history, earning two All-America Honorable Mention selections and helping lead the Eagles to four Patriot League championships and unprecedented NCAA Tournament success.

A two-time Patriot League Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015, Záveská was also named the league's Setter of the Year three times and earned All-Patriot League First Team honors in each of her final three active seasons. She was a two-time AVCA All-Region selection and the 2014 Patriot League Tournament MVP.

Záveská played a key role in American's historic run to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2013 and its return to the NCAA Second Round in 2015. The Eagles remain the only Patriot League volleyball program to win an NCAA Tournament match.

She finished her career with 4,055 assists, ranking third in program history, and 1,272 digs, ranking fourth. Her 137 matches played rank second all-time, while her 451 sets played rank fifth.
