WASHINGTON - The American University wrestling team defeated Drexel on Saturday afternoon, delivering one of the team's best overall performances on Senior Day and the final home dual of the season. The Eagles won six matches and did not concede any bonus points, while JJ Peace, Kaden Milheim and Caleb Campos both scored major decisions. 

Notable

• Emmanuel Ulrich won a tight match against Dom Petracci at 285 to get AU on the board, pouncing on an opportunity to score in the third period. After absorbing a shot, Ulrich hustled to spin behind Petracci and get on top of him for the takedown. 
• JJ Peace was in control of the 133-pound bout from start to finish, landing three takedowns and two escapes to earn an 11-2 major decision over Oumar Tounkara. The sophomore improves to 22-8 on the season, leading AU in wins. 
• At 133, Maximilian Leete grinded out a win in a low-scoring match against Kyle Waterman. Starting on bottom in the third period, the graduate senior was able to free up his right leg and power himself up for the escape to take a 2-1 lead. He defended well against shot attempts the rest of the way to hold on for the win. 
• Leo Maestas had the most exciting win of the day at 149, coming from behind to defeat Deon Pleasant in the third period. 
• Trailing 5-2 with a minute remaining, the freshman pulled Pleasant back from the edge of the mat and secured a takedown to tie the score. He stayed on top of Pleasant for nearly the rest of the period, adding a crucial riding time point to get the win 6-5. 
• Kaden Milheim wrestled his highest-scoring dual match of the season at 157, pairing two takedowns with four nearfall points to secure a 13-2 major decision over Gavin Carroll.
• Caleb Campos provided the final win for AU, taking care of Ethan Wilson in dominant fashion. He racked up three takedowns and added three nearfall points in the final seconds of the match, winning it via major decision 17-4. The redshirt junior is now 21-6 with a team-leading 54 dual points on the season. 
• The Eagles are now 7-9 overall, and finish their EIWA schedule with a 3-4 conference record.
