BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Chris Sullivan and Evan Tubbs of American University men's soccer have earned a share of this week's Patriot League awards, with Sullivan being named the Midfielder of the Week and Tubbs the Goalkeeper of the Week. The recognition comes after an undefeated week for AU, including a draw against #15 West Virginia and a 1-0 win over the Patriot League's top team in Boston.

Sullivan received his second distinction of the year following his spectacular game-winning goal that lifted American over BU in the 89th minute of Sunday's match. In transition, he received a pass from Sebastian Garces as he entered the box. The junior captain stopped and went from his right to left foot to create separation from two defenders, then curled his shot off the top of the left post and into the net for a glorious strike. It was his second goal of the season, and his other tally was also a game-winner at Colgate in September.

Tubbs made five saves on the week, none more important than his heroic stop in the final play of the match against West Virginia. After an AU corner kick was cleared with just 20 seconds remaining, WVU's Brayden Macomber chased down the ball at midfield and played it forward on the counterattack for Pablo Pozos. Tubbs charged off his line and sprawled to poke the ball off Pozos foot, allowing Javi Gonzalez to clear the ball away just before the final whistle. The sophomore totaled four saves in the match to hold a clean sheet against the nationally-ranked side.

The Eagles are back in action this Wednesday at Army. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
