WASHINGTON - After netting his second, late-game, Patriot League winner of the season, junior midfielder Chris Sullivan of American University men's soccer has been named AU Athletics' Eagle of the Week for a second time in 2026. Sullivan's 89th-minute goal lifted the Eagles to a 1-0 victory at league-leading Boston University on Oct. 18, handing the Terriers their first league loss.

After 88 minutes of scoreless soccer, Sebastian Garces got the ball in the middle and made a run into the attacking third, hitting Sullivan in stride at the top of the box. The junior captain stopped and went from his right to left foot to create separation from two defenders, then curled his shot off the top of the left post and into the net. Both of Sullivan's goals this season have been late winners, after he also scored one at Colgate on Sept. 11.
