Series History
  • This is the 56th meeting between American and Holy Cross, with American leading the series, 30-25.
The Crusaders won in DC just two weeks ago, 84-73 as the Eagles struggled from long range (2-for-24).
AU had previously won four of the last six contests (now four of seven), sweeping the Crusaders home and away last year.
The Eagles have won five games in a row at the Hart Center Arena.
The last time Holy Cross beat AU in Worcester was Feb. 2018. The Eagles have an 18-10 lead in home games against the Crusaders.

What to Know About American
  • The Eagles bring a three-game win streak into Saturday's contest, having not lost since they last faced Holy Cross on Jan. 10.
  • American did not trail for any part of its first two games in the streak, and trailed by only five in the most recent win over Colgate.
  • AU took down first-place Navy, 65-51, behind a career-high 23 points from Greg Jones, holding the Mids to 22.5 points below their season average. Later in that week, AU got a career-high 26 points from Julen Iturbe in a 78-67 win at Army.
  • Earlier this week against Colgate, sophomore Wyatt Nausadis led AU with 13 points while both freshman Madden Collins (12 pts, 12 rebs) and Jones (10 pts, 11 rebs) posted double-doubles.
  • Collins leads AU with 12.6 points per game, with Jones right on his heels at 12.5 points per game. Both posted career-highs in rebounds in the win over Colgate.
  • The defensive numbers in the Eagles' current three-game win streak are impressive. While the season average for opponent points per game is 71.9, AU has held its last three opponents to an average of just 61.3 points per game.
  • The Eagles are 10-2 at home in Bender Arena this season but just 2-6 away from home.
  • Seven players—Nausadis, Collins, Kade Sebastian, Jones, Iturbe, Geoff Sprouse, and Dean Hogans—have been leading scorers for AU so far this season.
  • As a team, AU leads the Patriot League in turnover margin (2.05), and steals (8.15 per game). The Eagles rank second in scoring (76.4 ppg), scoring margin (4.5 ppg), and free-throw percentage (.759). Their FT percentage is also good enough for 59th in NCAA Division I.
What to Know About Holy Cross
  • After a commanding second half gave Holy Cross an 84-73 win at American on Jan. 10, the Crusaders followed up with a victory over Army West Point at home four days later, 82-75.
  • Since then, however, Holy Cross has dropped two straight, both road games, at Lafayette (74-55) and Navy (85-68).
  • Sophomore guard Tyler Boston leads the team with 14 points per game. He scored 19 in the win at American, following that up with 20 in the victory over Army. Boston did not play in the Crusaders' most recent outing, the loss at Navy on Jan. 21.
  • Junior Gabe Warren added 17 points in the win at American, the third-highest total of his career and second-highest total of the season (25 vs. Fordham on Dec. 6).
  • As a team, the Crusaders are next-to-last in the Patriot League scoring just 66.6 points per game, just ahead of Bucknell's 66.2. Defensively, the Crusaders sit third in the league behind Navy and American at 72.5 points allowed per game.
