Sophie Dufour continues her torrid pace in her freshman campaign, earning Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for the third week in a row.Â
Dufour totaled 30 kills, 29 digs and eight aces in a dynamic performance across AU's 1-1 weekend in Patriot League play. She posted her third double-double on Friday night against Colgate with 18 kills and a season-high 20 digs, adding six service aces to contribute 25 points for her team. The freshman just missed a second straight double-double in American's 3-1 win over Army on Saturday, going for 12 kills and nine digs.Â
The Frankfort, Ky. native has taken the conference by storm, ranking second in kills (167), kills per set (3.80), points (188) and points per set (4.27).
Sophomore libero was given an honorable mention in the Players of the Week voting, taking on 45 digs in the two-game stretch. She held a .930 reception percentage, committing just four errors on 57 total attempts.Â
The Eagles are back in Patriot League action this Friday, Sept. 26 when they host Navy at Bender Arena. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
