Kaden Kluth and Carver Morgan Qualify for NCAA Championship First Round

WASHINGTON – Juniors Kaden Kluth and Carver Morgan have qualified for the First Round of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after running times in the top 48 in the East Region in their respective events this season. This is the first time an Eagle has qualified for the NCAA First Round since 2019.

The meet will be held at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla., from May 28-31. Kluth will compete in the 1500 meter first round on Wednesday (May 28), with the quarterfinal taking place on Friday (May 30). He is coming off a gold medal performance at the Patriot League Championships (May 3) in the 1500, running 3:49.60. His PR of 3:40.31 from the Virginia Challenge (Apr. 18) sits at 26th in the East Region heading into the First Round.

Morgan will compete in the 800 meter first round on Wednesday, with the quarterfinal taking place on Friday. He achieved an 800 PL sweep this year, winning the event in a Navy facility record at the Patriot League Indoor Championships (Mar. 2) and winning the outdoor championship in a meet record. He ran PRs in both races, and his outdoor PR of 1:47.91 is ranked 37th in the East Region.

"Kaden and Carver have done a phenomenal job in their preparation and competition execution this year," said head coach Sean Graham. "While this qualification, and thus opportunity for further advancement, was absolutely an expectation we had for the season for both of them, we will still celebrate that accomplishment. The times required now to achieve this qualification are nothing short of elite. I'm very proud of their accomplishments thus far and even more excited to see the next steps they take in the coming weeks. They're ready."
