WASHINGTON - After earning both a gold and a silver medal at the 2025 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships, junior Carver Morgan of American University men's track has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week. It is the first such honor for Morgan, and the best finishes of his career to date at a conference meet.

Morgan ran a wire-to-wire race to decisively win the men's 800 meter. His PR of 1:49.37 dominated the field by more than a second and improved his second all-time mark for AU. Morgan was also part of the men's distance medley relay squad that took silver, as he teamed up with Danny O'Neill, Brandon Williams, and Kaden Kluth for the fifth-best mark all-time at AU of 9:54.81.

A small crew of runners will head to Boston next weekend for the ECAC/IC4A Championships hosted by Boston University (March 7-8). The rest of the team will begin preparing for the outdoor track season.
