BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Two athletes from American University swimming & diving have been honored with selection to All-Patriot League Teams, with grad student Mimi Watts earning All-Patriot League First Team honors for the fourth year in a row, and junior Colin Clough earning All-Patriot League Second Team honors to give the men's team its first award since 2013.

Watts is coming off her final Patriot League Championships in which she earned the sixth, seventh, and eighth gold medals of her legendary career. She has 12 overall medals in four years of competing at the PL Championships, and tied for the highest point-scorer on the women's side last week with 96 points. Watts, who holds nine school records at American, is now tied with Hall of Famer Meghan Thiel for the most gold medals ever earned by an Eagle at the PL Championships.

Clough set two individual school records at the PL Championships, first breaking a two-year-old record in the 50 free with his time of 20.12, and then breaking a 23-year-old record in the 100 free with a finals time of 44.47 to place 11th. In the finals of the 50 free, Clough earned his highest-ever finish at PLs, placing eighth. He posted a lifetime-best 53.83 in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke, just six-hundredths of a second off the school record time of 53.77 set by Dominick Szabo in 2003. Clough's time placed him in sixth in the prelims, and that was where he finished in the A finals as well, with a time of 54.38.

Clough is the first student-athlete from the men's team to earn All-PL honors since 2013 when Bobby Ballance and Matt Wurm were selected All-PL First Team and Second Team, respectively.
