COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. — Four athletes from American University field hockey have earned NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors.
Jordan Reicher and
Agustina Roffo have been named to the First Team All-Region, while
Lotti Süme and
Emilia Winkler have been named to the Second Team.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced 160 members of the 2025 NFHCA Division I All-Region teams sponsored by Apex Field Hockey. Division I teams are separated into five regions: Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Northeast, South and West. Each of these regions recognizes up to 16 student-athletes on both the first and second teams.
The NFHCA Division I All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of NFHCA postseason awards over the next several weeks. Next to be announced are the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on December 11, followed by the NFHCA All-American teams on December 16 and the NFHCA National Player of the Year on December 18.
All season long, the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year,
Jordan Reicher, was a threat in the circle, and it was enough to earn her first major award and her first honor to the NFHCA All-Region teams. Last season, Reicher was named to the league's Second Team, before being bumped up to First Team in 2025. The striker finished the regular season leading the Eagles and the Patriot League in goals (13) and in game-winning goals (4). She was third in the league in shots on goal (33) and in points (27). Reicher finished the season having been named the Offensive Player of the Week four times across nine weeks.
Agustina Roffo both met and surpassed expectations set for her earlier in the year by earning the Patriot League's Midfielder of the Year and a spot on the League's first team after the completion of the regular season. The graduate student winger finished second on the team in goals scored (8) and points (18). In the Patriot League she was seventh in goals, ninth in points, and 10th in game winning goals (2). Roffo started in 16 games and played in all 17 across the season for the Eagles and earned PL Midfielder of the Week three times throughout the season. finished her career with a shot on goal percentage of .750. Intangibly, Roffo's speed and agility both on and off the ball was a fundamental part to American's offensive efforts this season.
In addition to earning a spot on the 2025 NFHCA Senior team, the Argentinian closed out her career having been named a Patriot League All-Tournament Team selection (2023), a two time member of the First Team All-Patriot League (2024, 2025), and a member of the second Team NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region (2024). This is Roffo's first appearance on the First Team.
After earning the Patriot League Rookie of the Year honor,
Lotti Süme now finds herself as a member of the Mid-Atlantic Region's Second Team. The freshman defender from Hamburg, Germany finished the regular season with three goals and five assists for 11 points. Süme, a starter in all 17 Eagles' games this season, was the only AU player on the roster to have played every minute of every game, including overtime periods. Across her rookie season, Süme was the recipient of a Rookie and a Defensive Player of the Week honor. She earned her first collegiate goal against Towson on October 8. She was crucial to the Eagles' penalty corner units on each end of the field, both offensively and defensively, and had a defensive save against James Madison (Sep. 7). A critical component to AU's success on both ends of the field, Süme's lockdown defense helped the back line to tally five clean sheets this season.
Joining Süme on the Second Team is fellow German,
Emilia Winkler. Winkler's already made appearances on the PL First Team–her second recognition to a post-season team in her three seasons at American–and on the 2025 PL All-Tournament Team. This is Winkler's first All-Region recognition. Winkler was named to the Patriot League Second Team her rookie season (2023) and started the 2025 season having been named to the Preseason All-League team. In 2025, the junior led the team in assists with nine, including four in a single game against Towson and two against Bucknell. She added a goal to finish the regular season with 11 points. Winkler was third in the league in the assist category and tied for fifth on the team in points. She started and played in all 17 of AU's games this season, averaging over 56 minutes per contest and has been a crucial part of both penalty corner units, integral on offense and defense in set pieces and throughout normal gameplay.
American closed the season with its 16th Patriot League regular season title after going undefeated in league play for the 13th time since joining the conference in 2001. The Eagles finished their season by being narrowly edged out in the semifinals of the PL Tournament by Boston University, 1-0.
