WASHINGTON - With a chance to lock up the number one seed in the Patriot League Tournament, the American University men's soccer team will host Navy in the final match of the regular season on Tuesday at Reeves Field.

Series History
- The Eagles are 14-9-4 against Navy all-time, defeating the Midshipmen 3-1 in Annapolis a season ago.

What to Know About American: 7-7-2 (6-1-1)
- American is in first place in the Patriot League, clinching a top two spot in the conference tournament this past Friday after defeating Holy Cross 2-1 on the road. With a win over Navy on Tuesday, the Eagles will be the number one seed.
- AU had a quality attacking night against Holy Cross, tying a season-high seven shots on goal and generating eight corners. They struck first after being awarded a penalty kick off a handball in the box, converted by Elgersma with 3:33 left in the first half.
- After Holy Cross leveled the score in the 60th minute, Toshi Davis provided the game-winning goal 13 minutes later. He raced to a rebound off a shot from Reyes Parra, beating two defenders to the ball and driving his shot to the top of the net.
- It was the first goal of the year for Davis, earning him Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors.
- The Eagles had some heroic defensive plays in the win as well, with Oliver Snowdown and Finn O'Brien both saving shots off the line during attacking sequences for the Crusaders.
- Graduate senior Mustapha Sowe leads the Eagles offensively, racking up 12 points on five goals and two assists. Elgersma follows behind him with four goals, while Garces has two goals and a team-leading four assists.
- The Eagles have had a widespread attacking effort, with nine different goal scorers this year.
- Senior Matthew Tibbetts has been reliable in goal, making 50 saves (fifth in the PL), holding a 1.07 GAA, and three clean sheets.
- American is undefeated at home, posting a 5-0-1 record.
What to Know About Navy: 3-7-7 (0-5-3)
- Navy sits at the bottom of the Patriot League table, mathematically eliminated from postseason contention. The Midshipmen are coming off a 1-0 loss to Bucknell at home.
- Navy's three ties in Patriot League play have come against Holy Cross, Loyola, and Lafayette. They earned the point against the Leopards in a dramatic finish, as Luke Parker scored with just 12 seconds remaining to tie the match 3-3.
- The Mids are led by senior forward Andrew Schug, who has nine points on four goals and an assist. Sophomore midfielder Duncan Sullivan follows him, posting three goals and two assists.
- Senior Robert Eaton has been in goal for the majority of the season, making 72 saves and holding a 1.25 GAA across 15 starts.
- Navy has conceded the third-most goals in the PL with 23, and the team's last win came on Sept. 23 over Air Force 2-1.
