WASHINGTON –– American University field hockey is looking to continue its winning ways when they take on the A-10's VCU on Sunday at 1 p.m. When the Eagles and the Rams will face off on the Jacobs Complex turf, AU will be searching for its seventh win in a row and VCU will be looking to capitalize on their win streak after topping #20 Saint Joseph's, 1-0, on Friday.
Sunday will be American's Pride game, so wear your pride regalia to the VCU game to show your support!

Scouting the Eagles
- The Eagles are 7-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Patriot League after sweeping both their games this past weekend before earning a 5-0 statement win over Towson midweek. This makes it six wins in a row for AU, the squad's longest winning streak since 2021 when they went seven in a row.
- The Eagles have scored in 10 of the last 12 quarters of game play and in the run of six unbeaten games in a row, American has outscored its opponents 17-2 and earned four of its five clean sheets.
- Against Towson, Emilia Winkler was involved in all five goals. She assisted on the goals by Jordan Reicher, Sophie Willemse, Ninthe Botman and Lotti Süme, and played a key part in the lead up to the goal by Elle Ridge.
- Freshman goalkeeper Teagan Harmon earned her first collegiate start against the Tigers, playing the entirety of the match, and with five saves earned the shutout–the Eagles' fifth and their fourth in six games.
- For their efforts over the weekend when they topped Lafayette (3-1) and Villanova (3-0), four Eagles were named PL Players of the Week. Pauline Gineste was tabbed the Goalkeeper of the Week when she earned her fourth shutout.
- Jordan Reicher came away with Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. She scored three goals across the weekend with a goal against Lafayette and a brace against Villanova. After scoring again against Towson, the junior forward leads the team with 8 goals and 17 points, the most in her collegiate career in either category.
- Agustina Roffo is once again the reigning Midfielder of the Week. It's her third time being honored this season. Her goal opened the scoring against Lafayette before assisting on Reicher's goal.
- Süme is the PL Defensive Player of the Week. She is the only AU field player to have played every minute so far this season. The freshman also earned her first goal of the season on a penalty corner against Towson.
Scouting the Rams
- The Rams are hot off a 1-0 win over conference opponent, #20 Saint Joseph's and are riding a two-game win streak coming to Jacobs Complex. VCU have an 8-3 record, and like the Eagles, maintain a perfect conference record thus far, leading the A-10.
- Against the Hawks, the score was even until the 51st minute when Angelina Gandos sent the ball into the cage off a penalty corner, assisted by Morena Macera.
- The squad is led by Macera with 25 points from 11 goals and three assists in 11 games played. Macera is second in the league in goals, and VCU's Lina Behrmann leads the league in assists with nine.
- The Rams goalkeeper, Emma Clements, leads the A-10 in saves, having stopped 61 shots so far this season. She carries a save percentage of .836 and averages 5.55 saves per game. She matched this average on Friday when she made five stops against the Hawks of Saint Joseph's.
- On the season, in the A-10, VCU is fourth in goals per game (2.00) for and second in goals against per game (1.08).
