Callia Cordasco of Women's Track Named Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week

WASHINGTON - With the top finish for American University women's outdoor track in the 1,500 meter run this past weekend, senior Callia Cordasco has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 1-7. The Eagles competed on April 5-6 at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason.

With a time of 4:48.32, Cordasco was the top finisher among seven Eagles in the women's 1,500, placing 26th in the event. Her time was less than two seconds off her own personal best. Cordasco also raced for AU in the 4x800 meter relay as part of a foursome that finished in fifth place.

The team now has two weeks until its next weekend of racing which will be at the University of Virginia on April 19-20.
