What to Know About American
  • American fell in its last game, 67-52, against Boston University. The Eagles were unable to overcome a slow start that saw them score just five points in the first 12 minutes of the game. Freshman Matt Mayock led the Eagles in scoring with 12 points.
  • Rogers leads AU and ranks fourth in the PL with 15.9 points per game, adding 6.3 rebounds per game (sixth in PL). Rogers has reached double-figures scoring in all but four games played this season. He is the 15th Eagle all-time to score 1,000 points and record 500 rebounds.
  • Junior Elijah Stephens leads AU and ranks second in the PL with 5.0 assists per game. His assist/turnover ratio of 2.1 ranks fourth in the PL, and his 11.6 points per game rank 11th in the PL. Stephens has played limited minutes over the last two games after missing three games with an ankle injury.
  • Four of American's seven leading scorers (Ballisager Webb, Smalls, Sprouse, Stephens) have missed games in February. Entering February, the Eagles were averaging 72.4 points per game. In February, the Eagles are scoring 57.8 points per game.
  • Senior Lincoln Ball has seen an increased role on offense as a result of the injuries. Prior to February, Ball had reached double-figures scoring one time in his career. Ball has now scored 10 or more points in three consecutive games.
