WASHINGTON - After two more strong performances in the cage for American University field hockey, goalkeeper
Bryn Underwood has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3.
The senior was also named the Patriot League's Goalkeeper of the Week for a second week in a row for her work against Richmond and #14 Liberty.
Â
Combined, Underwood amassed a .900 save percentage across the two games when she allowed just one goal, making nine saves. The lone goal came against Richmond, meaning that Underwood kept #14 Liberty from making any goals in open play. The big moment of the weekend came when the senior saved a penalty stroke that was awarded to the Flames in the 56th minute of play.
Up next, the Eagles squad will be competing in the Maryland Terrapin Invitational. On Friday, Sept. 8 they will take on Yale at 7:30 p.m. and will then face off with Miami (Ohio) on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m.
