Four Eagles Selected to Field Hockey All-Patriot League Teams

BETHLEHEM, Pa. –– A trio of seniors from American University field hockey, Jordan Reicher, Sophie Willemse, and Emilia Winkler, were joined by freshman Nora Tromble as All-Patriot League honorees. The three seniors, Reicher, Willemse, and Winkler led the way by earning First Team honors while Tromble made the Second Team.

Reicher tallies her third All-Patriot League honor, after having previously been selected to the Second Team in 2024 and as the Offensive Player of the Year and to the First Team in 2025. In 2026, Reicher led the Eagles, tied with Willemse and Kaleigh Missimer, with eight goals in the regular season, and was sixth in the league in scoring. The striker led the league and the Eagles with four game-winning goals and tallied 17 points.

This is Willemse's second All-PL honor after having earned a spot on the Second Team in 2025. The senior defender led American in points (19) this season on eight goals–including two game winners–and three assists. Willemse made the transition from midfield to defense in her final year on the Eagles' squad and from the center back position anchored a line that had the second-lowest goals allowed average in the league (1.86) and helped to secure five shutouts.

Winkler's earned her third appearance on an All-Patriot League Team after being named to the Second Team as a rookie in 2023 and the First Team as a junior in 2025. The midfielder led the Eagles and was tied for second in the league with 10 assists across 17 games (.588). She was sixth on the team with her 12 points and averaged 50 minutes per game on as a center midfielder. Winkler with her tenacity led the charge in the midfield both offensively and defensively as integral parts of both attacking and defensive penalty corner units for American and helped to secure five shutouts this season.

Tromble, the first year, has earned her first postseason recognition with her appointment to the Second Team. The midfielder from Maryland started all but a single game and scored two goals in her debut season. Averaging 47 minutes per game on the wings of the midfield, Tromble was an integral part of the Eagles' ability to move the ball forward on the outside and into the circle with her pace, agility, and ball handling skills.

American will open postseason play this this week as the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Lafayette, the No. 1 seed, will host all three games of the tournament starting with the two semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 5. The first semifinal between the Leopards and No. 4 Holy Cross will open the tournament at 12 p.m. No. 2 American will take the field against No. 3 Boston University at 3 p.m.

The Patriot League Championship game will be held at Rappolt Field at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
