WASHINGTON – The American University cross country teams are back in action this weekend at one of the largest races in the entire country. The 49th annual Lehigh Paul Short Run, presented by ASICS, will take place this Saturday on Lehigh University's Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
With over 5,200 student-athletes from over 450 colleges or high schools competing in Saturday's races, the Paul Short Run will feature 12 races throughout the day starting with two open races, six college races and ending with four high school races.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Eagles last competed at the Navy XC Invitational on September 9 before having two weeks off to train and prepare for the prestigious Paul Short Run.
- The women's squad was broken up between two races at the event. Four Eagles competed in the women's Open 5000m race while nine took to the line and competed in the 6000m.
- In the 5k, sophomore Grace Kirk paced the group and came fourth overall in her first collegiate cross country race at the distance.
- Also in the 5k was junior Kirah Tianga who set a personal best for herself when she crossed the line 13th overall and a minute and ten seconds faster than her previously recorded fastest time.
- Then, in the 6k, June Mwaniki set the tone for the group and finished first for the Eagles and ninth overall in the event.
- The senior was followed by two first-years, Estella Miller and Amy O'Connell who were participating in their first collegiate full distance 6k. Sophomore pairing of Kate Riley and Skyler Tatum finished off the top five of the 6k grouping, finishing just eight seconds apart.
- In the 4.9 mile event, 11 Eagles representing the men's squad lined up to compete.
- It was sophomore Kaden Kluth for the first time in his collegiate career that finished first for the Eagles on the day. Kluth finished 12th overall and following less than two seconds behind, Row Sullivan, came in 13th overall and second for the Eagles.
- Carver Morgan finished in third place for American. The sophomore kept up with the two leaders Kluth and Sullivan for much of the race before they surged ahead at the finish. Senior Sean Stuck was back competing in his first race of the season and came in fourth for the squad, 33rd overall.
- First year Mathias Delqicque rounded out the top five for American in the event. Only four seconds behind Stuck, the first year took 35th overall.
