WASHINGTON – In its first home conference game of the season, the American University field hockey team is facing off against Lafayette at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24. The Eagles are looking to win their first home Patriot League match of 2023, while Lafayette seeks its first conference win on the road; both teams are currently 1-0 in league play after opening weekend. American won 2-1 over Colgate and Lafayette won 2-1 over Bucknell.
Sunday's game, originally schedule for a 12 p.m. start on Saturday, has been moved to a 1:30 p.m. start on Sunday due to the tropical storm that is moving through the area this weekend.

- Freshman Stella Malinowski scored a hat trick in Lafayette's game against Fairfield, bringing her to fifth in goals in the Patriot League with four overall.
- The Leopards opened league play against Bucknell at home in Easton with a 2-1 victory over the visiting Bison.
- Sophomore Josephine van Wijk leads the league in goals with six, and third in the league for shots on goal with 14. Junior Lineke Spaans leads the league for assists with seven.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Raffi Fragomeni is second in the league for goals against with 12, fourth in the league for shutouts with one, and sixth in the league for saves with 24.
- Lafayette leads the Patriot League in fouls with 181 and is third in the league for goals, averaging 2.167 per game.
