WASHINGTON - American University's Annual Giving Day is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, February 27-28, and AU Athletics is poised to rise to the challenge. Every year, the AU community comes together during the 36-hour AU Giving Day with one goal: to make a difference.
This call for our community to stand together ensures that AU remains a catalyst for change with the goal of bringing AU Athletics together to pledge support for the Eagles.
Giving Day is an opportunity for everyone to support athletics and their favorite sports programs at AU. Alumni-athletes, alumni, families, staff and coaches, student-athletes, and friends who are interested in making their mark on AU Athletics are encouraged to participate in the day of giving and support. Every gift matters.

Athletics Challenges
An Athletics donor has generously donated $25,000 to AU Athletics to sponsor a giving challenge. On Giving Day specifically, teams can earn additional funds for the following categories:
- Most Donors on Giving Day ($10,000)
- Two Runners-Up of Most Donors of Giving Day ($5,000 each)
- Most Dollars Raised on Giving Day ($5,000 each)
Additional Challenges and Matches
- Paul Servidio, '04 Golf, and Jaimie (Lambert) Servidio, '05 Swimming, unlocking a $5,000 gift for Athletics when 25 AU alumni-athletes give.
- Loren Danielson, '80 Wrestling, will unlock a $7,500 gift for Wrestling when 20 wrestling alumni-athletes from the '76 –'84 era give to Wrestling.
- Athletic Director's Challenge - Gifts to the General Athletics Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $3,000.
- Spirit Coaches' Challenge - Gifts to the Spirit Team will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $500 from Coach Emily Hampsten
- Lindsey Campbell will unlock a $1,000 gift to Athletics when 25 Athletics Staff/Coaches give to any Athletics Fund on Giving Day.
