WASHINGTON - Thanks to a school-record performance in her very first competition as an Eagle, freshman Ciera Thacker of American University women's track has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.

Thacker set a new school indoor track record in the women's 60m dash (7.30) at the Bucknell Bison Opener. She also added her name to the number two spot on the school's top-10 performers list with her finish of 25.89 in the 200m dash.

The Eagles will take over a month off competition before returning to action on January 12 at the STAC Spartan Invitational on Staten Island, N.Y.
