AU Athletics to Celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day on January 28

WASHINGTON - After a hiatus in 2021 and an outdoor event in 2022, the American University Department of Athletics and Recreation is excited to announce its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) celebration in Bender Arena, following the women's basketball game on Saturday, January 28. Tipoff against Navy is scheduled for 2 p.m. with the clinic to follow immediately after the game.

Many of American's varsity teams -- typically including basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball -- along with the cheer and dance squads, will lead skills clinics and sign autographs for kids of all ages in attendance on the gym floor. The clinic is free for all with game ticket, and children are asked to wear athletic shoes.

Purchase tickets to the basketball game in advance online for just $3 by using the code "NGWSD2023" at checkout by clicking here. Call (202) 885-TIXX for more information.

All participants are also asked to register and fill out a waiver prior to the clinic, which can be found HERE.
