The #25 Eagles (6-3, 2-0 PL) are set to host league opponents Boston U. (4-5, 2-0 PL) on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. and Rider (4-4, 0-0 NEC) on Sunday at 2 p.m.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
- American will enter the matchup ranked #25 in the nation. The team is coming off a weekend in which they went 2-0 in wins and 13-0 collectively in scoring against their opponents.
- Senior defender Charllene Boshoff is the current Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and junior goalkeeper Bryn Underwood is the current Patriot League Goalkeeper of the week. This is Boshoff's second honoring this season and Underwood's third. Underwood has received this honor nine times throughout her career.
- Boshoff is also the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week. The defender scored four goals for the Eagles over the weekend and anchored a defense that allowed only five shots on goal in two matchups.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT BOSTON U
- Boston University will enter Saturday's match coming off a loss against #14 Harvard University. Goalkeeper Caroline Kelly recorded her season high 12 saves.
- Last week, sophomore Payton Anderson took the title of PL Defensive Player of the Week last week while freshman Amalia Preece was PL Rookie of the Week.
- Head Coach Sally Starr recorded her 500th career victory against Holy Cross. The celebration comes after the Terriers blank the Crusaders 3-0.
- Junior Tess Csejka leads the Terriers in both goals and shots on goal this season, recording 6 goals and 16 shots on goal.
- Graduate student Casey Thompson leads the charge for assists with 5. Thompson notched two assists in the Terriers' conference opener against Lehigh.
- The Terriers recently hosted Lehigh University for their conference opener, beating the Mountain Hawks 4-1.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT RIDER
- Freshman Valeria Perales leads the charge for the Broncos with nine goals this season and three assists for a total of 21 points. Perales will enter the game as the reigning NEC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week after scoring three goals and earning two assists against Drexel and Georgetown this past weekend.
- Senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Thomas has a .780 save percentage for the season and notched a career-high 10 saves against Drexel in September and earned her second shut-out of the season against Georgetown.
- Another freshman, Indy Zoontjens, is having a breakout rookie season as well, following behind Perales in the scoring category with four goals and three assists for 11 points total.
- The Broncos were the 2020-21 NEC Field Hockey Tournament Champions.
