LEWISBURG, Pa. - The American University track team had a memorable close to its 2022 outdoor regular season on Saturday, as the Eagles picked up six new program all-time top-10 marks and 10 personal records during the Bucknell Team Challenge in Lewisburg, Pa. Junior
Russell Sullivan also highlighted the day's events as the team's only individual winner, pacing the men's 3000-meter field with a new record book time.
HEAR FROM COACH GRAHAM...
"We had a really good day at the track today. Both the men's and women's teams wrapped up the season with nearly everyone clicking off season bests, career bests, and even some record book marks. The women's 3000m run saw great races from
June Mwaniki,
Rachael Potter,
Kylie Raymond, and a couple of PR's for
Clare Hernandez and
Catie Anderson.
Neev Agarwal in the 100m set a new PR of her own to go along with a solid performance in the long jump. And the women's 4x400m relay climbed up to No. 4 all-time in AU history.Â
"On the men's side, the 1500m saw a huge PR from
Aidan Caggiano and some very good performances from
Oscar Counsell,
Alex Murphy, and
Michael Cullen. In the 3000m, Russell took the win after a commanding move from 1200-meters out to run away from the field. Then there were two huge PR's in the 800m from
Tucker Zullo and Nate Reeves to plant them in the AU all-time top-10 with some pretty impressive names.Â
"This was a great way to end the regular-season and an exciting lead-up to the championship in two weeks!"
