WASHINGTON - The American University track team continued its outdoor campaign with the two-day Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles departed the meet with six new personal records (PR's) and three program all-time top-10 finishes.
HEAR FROM COACH GRAHAM...
"We had a solid weekend down in Williamsburg for the Colonial Relays. On the men's side, the 1500m squad raced very well with a few coming away with new PR's.
Russell Sullivan had a great 5k after some time off due to illness, and I'm really happy with how aggressive they raced. The men's DMR was another highlight - they were fighting for the win in the final 100 meters and ended with the seventh-fastest time in program history.Â
"The women's team also had a great meet.
Clare Hernandez had her fastest 5k in quite some time, and came back to run a strong leg in the 4x1500m the next day.
Nia Holden had a big PR in the 400m and put in solid legs in both the sprint medley and 4x400m on Saturday.
Callia Cordasco also had a PR in the 1500m and came back to take a leg in the 4x1500m. We're excited to see times coming down and people competing well and we're excited to stay close to home next weekend with the meet at George Mason."
