WASHINGTON - For her efforts in a double-overtime victory over a Top 25 team, American University field hockey graduate student Noor Coenen has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 6-12.

Coenen scored twice in the Eagles' 3-2 win over No. 21 UMass on Sept. 12, first getting an equalizer in the first quarter and later putting in the game-winner in the 74th minute (second overtime). The goals were Coenen's second and third of the season, and she posted a total of nine shots with four on goal. In the Eagles' 2-1 win over Richmond on Sept. 10, Coenen registered two shots with one on goal.

American will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 18 to host Lafayette in its Patriot League opener at 11 a.m.
