WASHINGTON - The American University cross country team will close its unique spring slate on Friday at the Patriot League Championships, hosted at Lehigh's Goodman Campus in Bethlehem, Pa.
Eighteen of the league's 20 teams will compete on Friday, including men's defending champion Army West Point, and the defending women's champion, Boston University. The day will begin at 1 p.m. with the women's 3.7-mile race, followed by the men's 4.7-mile race at 2 p.m.
The Eagles opened their season on February 20 with their first race in over 450 days, traveling to the Loyola Invitational to take on snowy conditions over the 6,000-meter course. Sophomore
Russell Sullivan came away with his second career individual victory and the team's first Patriot League Runner of the Week nod after leading the field in 22:15. Freshman
Ethan Puc, junior
Aidan Caggiano, and sophomores
Nathan Reeves,
Tucker Zullo, and
Jackson McCarthy rounded out the finishers for AU.
Sullivan, Puc, Reeves, Zullo, McCarthy, and senior
Max Lustig will all take the line for American on Friday. Lustig returns to the championship meet after leading the team last year. Zullo, Sullivan, and McCarthy also scored for AU during the 2019 PL Championship meet.
On the women's side, sophomore

All five women will return to the line on Friday alongside freshman
