WASHINGTON - After helping American University wrestling go 2-0 with wins over Brown and Drexel, redshirt freshman
Tim Fitzpatrick has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week.
In the Eagles' 18-16 win vs. Brown on Jan. 10, Fitzpatrick edged his 165-pound opponent Kiran Srikanth in a low-scoring affair, 3-2. One day later, Fitzpatrick was up just 2-1 before pinning Drexel's Mike Manley with 35 seconds left in the first period. The win by fall was his first of the season and sixth of his career. It was the only pin of the night for AU, who defeated Drexel decisively by a score of 27-14.
