Women's Soccer Visits Longwood and Hosts Mount St. Mary's This Weekend

WASHINGTON – The American University women's soccer team looks to turn the page this weekend with games at Longwood on Friday and home against Mount St. Mary's on Sunday. 

Game Notes

  • Fisayo Iluyomade leads the Eagles in goals with four and points with eight.
  • Six of American's eight goals this season have come from underclassmen. Outside of Iluyomade's four goals, classmate Alysa Vazquez and sophomore Keelin Ferris have also found the back of the net.
  • American is allowing 1.50 goals against per game with keepers Morgan Lang and Amy Krotine both under the team average of goals allowed. Ryleigh Brown leads the team with 13 saves on 19 shots on goal.

Scouting Longwood

  • The Lancers enter Friday's contest with a 1-3 record on the season and had their last game canceled due to Hurrican Dorian in the Carolinas. 
  • Longwood is being outscored this season 9-4 with its lone win against Howard, 2-0. 
  • Kennedy Culbreath leads the team in goals with two and points with four. Danielle Toone has the team lead in assists with two. 
  • Madison Van Dyke has seen action in all four games and has allowed five goals on 33 shots.
  • Longwood was picked third in the Big South. 

Scouting Mount St. Mary's

  • The Mountaineers are looking for their first goal of the season after being held scoreless through 540 minutes to start the season. 
  • At 0-6, the Mountaineers allowed an average of 2.0 goals against per game with starting keeper Charlotte Elrod holding a 1.73 GAA.
  • Of the six losses, The Mount has not allowed more than three goals against in a game and has a pair of 1-0 deficits to Howard and Penn.
